Kaapse Toer 2013: Dinsdag 9 Julie

KOMMANDEUR KENNY LEIBBRANDT
DIREKTEUR VAN MUSIEK
S.A. VLOOTORKES

Commander Kenny Leibbrandt was taught music at an early age. Kenny was first taught on cornet and by the age of 7 years was playing euphonium in the local Salvation Army Junior Brass Band. He moved around the various sections of the band playing a variety of brass instruments. Kenny joined the Western Province Command Band in 1987 as principal euphonium player and in 1988 transferred to the South African Navy Band.

In 1996 Kenny was appointed Bandmaster of the South African Navy Band and in 1998 successfully completed his officer training at the South African Naval College. On his completion of his officer’s training, he was appointed Assistant Director of Music of the South African Navy Band. He was appointed Director of Music in June 2004 and promoted to the rank of Commander in August 2004.

Music taste: Classical

Hobbies: Looking after 50 Navy Band musicians

Ek  dink dit is vir die fotograaf .  D.w.s. vir my.  Lyk my ek irriteer die seniors so effens met al die neem van die  foto's. . . .
