The Grotons are Coming! Muwhahaha!

Dit is nie meer lank voordat die Groton School Chamber Orchestra ons kom besoek nie.  Hier is 'n opsomming van die prestasies van die skool die afgelope paar jaar.  Indrukwekkend!

Groton School Chamber Orchestra Biography

The Groton School Chamber Orchestra has been rehearsing and planning since September 2011 for a great adventure in South Africa, its third international concert tour.  In 2006, the orchestra toured Switzerland, and in, 2009 tour performed in cities and small rural villages in China. Director of Instrumental Music, Mary Ann Lanier, is pleased to lead the Groton Zebras (the Zebra is the school mascot) on their first musical tour to Africa.  


Conducted by Worcester, Massachusets-based conductor, cellist, and flutist Timothy Terranella, the select ensemble rehearses three times a week for a year-long course in the School’s curriculum and presents seven community performances during the year. All members study privately with one of 25music faculty members and are active performers in the School’s student recital series. 


Located in Groton, Massachusetts, Groton School is a diverse and intimate community devoted to inspiring lives of character, learning, leadership, and service.  Home to 370 students from 29 states and 12 countries, Groton School is recognized as one of America’s top boarding schools.  It prepares students in grades 8-12 for the “active work of life.”
